A nurse or an Artist? I can do both >_

Image
Fifteen years from now, I see myself working as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). It’s a big dream, but I’m ready for the challenge. Picture this: I’ll be walking into an operating room, confidently preparing patients for surgery, making sure they feel calm and comfortable. I can already imagine the beeping of the machines and the buzz of the hospital, but before I get carried away with all the career details, let’s check on the real stuff. Will I finally have my life together? Will I be financially independent, happily in a stable relationship, and maybe even have time for hobbies and relaxation? If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my own life, it’s that things rarely go according to plan. So, picture this: I’m just about to become a top CRNA when, boom! A talent scout spots me while I’m taking a coffee break in the hospital cafeteria and convinces me to work on a medical drama as a consultant. Suddenly, I’m helping actors portray medical scenes more realisti...

"Oh, like its hard?" - Elle Woods(Legally Blonde)

Looking back at this quarter, I can’t help but reflect on what I’ve learned in my technology class, especially when it comes to web design. We spent a lot of time working with Microsoft FrontPage, and I’ve got to say, it was a bit of a rollercoaster. At first, web design seemed like something only IT's can do. I thought creating a website would be all about complex coding, but using FrontPage changed my POV. What I learned was that web design isn’t as difficult as it seems. I learned about the parts of microsoft frontpage, the Title Bar, Menu Bar, Standard toolbar, Formatting, Webpage name, Tag name, Task pane, Webpage, Page view tabs, Downloading, these parts helped me to do my Frontpage faster. The WYSIWYG editor made it easier to design websites without having to deal with messy HTML code. The toolbars helped with everything from inserting images to formatting text. I also discovered how important it is to plan out your website and make sure everything looks neat. But of cour...

WE for Gender Equality: Building a More Inclusive Society not only for men and women, but for all.

Image
This years theme, "WE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society," invites us to consider the collective effort needed to break down the barriers that limit people based on their gender. It’s not just about empowering women, but empowering everyone to participate equally in all aspects of life. Womens month, is a month dedicated to uncover womens strengths, resilience, and achievements. More importantly, it is a month that is dedicated to reflect, on how to include inclusivity regardles of their gender. Gender equality is a term that sounds big and important, but to me, it’s really quite simple. It’s about ensuring everyone, regardless of their gender, has the same opportunities, respect, and rights. It’s like making sure everyone at a party gets the same chance at the last slice of pizza, no one should be left out just because of their gender. Whether you're a girl, boy, homosexual, heterosexual, transgender or anywhere in between, we all deserve to be treated fairly a...

A Rollercoater Ride through the booths.

The Estudyantepreneur activity at the SPTVE grounds was no less a wild ride of chaos that placed us on a rollercoaster ride of laughter. Allow me to guide you through the  madness, and trust me, you won’t want to miss out on the hilarious moments we captured. First things first, the minute we stepped into the SPTVE area, we were met with a 1-peso entrance fee per people, 1 peso may not be anything much to others, but to us, it was the lowest amount of money to be able to get inside what would become a day of non-stop comedy. Fortunately, our friend Roman saved the day, volunteering to pay the entry fee for all of us and we had to have a little fun at his expense. Josh's former girlfriend just so happens to be the president of the TLE club, and guess who was responsible for stamping our hands with the official mark of approval? You bet. Josh was leading himself right into the fire. We couldn't help but make fun of him. As she stamped his hand, we could all see their fingers t...

A festival or a tradition?

Valentine's Day, a holiday commemorated annually on each February 14th, had Roman and Christian roots and evolved to become an international holiday about love. First to be in dedication of St. Valentine, the Christian martyr, it has become to signify the expression of love in whatever fashion-whether platonic, familial, or amorous. Why should I be celebrating? For the same reason that it gives time to family and friends to enjoy their loved ones through gifts or acts or simply good times that solidify all. Cards, special meals, love letters, or caring acts are all forms of love. Flowers, candle dinner, or shared activity all bring a sense of being loved by the other person. Love, for me, is care and presence. How do you express love on this day?
