Sure Ilocos Sur; A festival so beautiful.
The Kannawidan Festival, held every late January to early February, commemorates the foundation of Ilocos Sur while showcasing its rich culture, traditions, and local industries. A major highlight is the trade fair, featuring Ilocano products like abel Iloko, burnay, Bigan Delicacies like longganisa, bagnet, and sukang Iloco, supporting local entrepreneurs.
The festival also brings together various town celebrations, featuring street parades, cultural performances, kalesa rides, and tribal dances that reflect Ilocos Sur’s vibrant heritage. More than a festivity, Kannawidan preserves BigueƱos deep cultural identity, promoting pride and unity while keeping traditions alive for future generations.
