Sure Ilocos Sur; A festival so beautiful.


The Kannawidan Festival, held every late January to early February, commemorates the foundation of Ilocos Sur while showcasing its rich culture, traditions, and local industries. A major highlight is the trade fair, featuring Ilocano products like abel Iloko, burnay, Bigan Delicacies like longganisa, bagnet, and sukang Iloco, supporting local entrepreneurs.  

The festival also brings together various town celebrations, featuring street parades, cultural performances, kalesa rides, and tribal dances that reflect Ilocos Sur’s vibrant heritage. More than a festivity, Kannawidan preserves Bigueños deep cultural identity, promoting pride and unity while keeping traditions alive for future generations.

Beyond showcasing local products and cultural performances, Kannawidan Festival also features religious and historical events, honoring the province’s deep faith and colonial past. This years activities are awesome and it includes traditional rituals, beauty pageants, and art exhibits highlighting the Ilocano people's creativity and devotion. The festival not only attracts tourists but also strengthens community ties, reminding everyone of the importance of preserving heritage while embracing progress.

Learning is a choice. Either a peaceful battle or a tough one.

For the second quarter, I discovered more about myself and my classmates, especially in terms of our strengths and the areas where we struggle in school. While I didn’t master time management, I still managed to accomplish my tasks fairly well (or so I believe). I faced challenges in understanding lessons in math and basic electronics, but I found our ICT lessons relatively easy, particularly the activities we completed. So far, ICT has been my best-performing subject, with my highest score yet. After lunch, I often reflect on how much I enjoy attending our ICT class. I not only have fun but also learn new skills, like writing code and using HTML tags. Brainstorming Our research journey started with brainstorming ideas and assigning tasks. We carefully planned our methodology to ensure a smooth process.   Visiting the community We visited the town of Bulala, where we observed and interacted with the locals, learning about the art of burnay-making and its role in their livelihood. Documentation We documented every step of the burnay-making process to analyze its significance in local heritage and economy. Interviewing Interviewing the community members gave us valuable insights into their craft, challenges, and how burnay contributes to their economy and culture.   Assignment of Tasks          We divided the parts and wrote the research, to make ourworks easier and faster. After all of these, we presented our output last February 1, 2025. P.S: The title of this thematic is not our title in our research, i is just my way to engage audience.<3
