A festival or a tradition?
Valentine's Day, a holiday commemorated annually on each February 14th, had Roman and Christian roots and evolved to become an international holiday about love. First to be in dedication of St. Valentine, the Christian martyr, it has become to signify the expression of love in whatever fashion-whether platonic, familial, or amorous. Why should I be celebrating? For the same reason that it gives time to family and friends to enjoy their loved ones through gifts or acts or simply good times that solidify all. Cards, special meals, love letters, or caring acts are all forms of love. Flowers, candle dinner, or shared activity all bring a sense of being loved by the other person. Love, for me, is care and presence. How do you express love on this day?
