Building Resilience: Locating challenges that Philippines has faced.

The Philippines is located along the pacific ring of fire and the typhoon belt. The

Philippines is now a nation known to be prone to different types natural disaster like; Typhoons,

tsunamis, earthquake, and mountain ranges. Climate change worsens these challenges that our

country is facing, it has lead and continuous leading to changing weather pattern, sudden rising

of the level of the sea that threatens the community along/ near ocean.

To respond to the causes presented, The Philippine Government and various

organizations have implemented strategies. This may include the community education program,

early warning signals, community meeting and the improvement of weak/damaged structures.

However, some of these cannot be applied due to the lack of materials or supplies that the

community needs to improve things.

Regardless of the efforts made by the nation, the path that one may need to walk in

achieving full resilience in our country the Philippines, may need to face challenges. One of the

biggest hurdle is the lack of enough money to purchase some materials and resources to keep

disaster preparedness and on going efforts. Moreover, corruption can make program

implementation inefficient and can reduce their effectiveness. The poor coordination between

different agencies can weaken their responses to crisis. To top all of that, the growing threat of

climate change, with the frequency and severity of most calamities that is happening, is a

challenge that is going as time pass by, needs constant action that includes new strategies to

build more resiliency.
